SY80 Sundance, the flagship model of Silent Yachts’ electric and solar catamaran fleet, is the company’s most sophisticated and environmentally friendly creation. They launched the Sundance from Silent Yachts’ highly modern plant in Fano, Italy, and it measures 24.4 meters. This is the first SY80 2-Deck variant that the company has released.
Sundance’s effortless trimaran solar-electric propulsion system exemplifies Silent Yachts’ philosophy of clean, quiet and ultra-luxurious yachting. The vessel’s sophisticated design marks her as one of the big innovations in yachting, with a growing reliance on renewable energies, making her one of the most anticipated debuts for 2025. After her delivery this summer, she will be presented at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September ‘25.
Up to Three Configurations Available
SY80’s Sundance is available in three configurations:
- 2-Deck
- 3-Deck Open
- 3-Deck Closed
With these configurations, the SY80 gives further customisation options to cater to an owner’s preferences. They may choose a main deck master suite or an open plan saloon above with a master cabin below.
Sundance has been equipped with the latter arrangement, having a panoramic saloon on the main deck, which is described as “the most spacious in its class”. This lounge area has a stylish bar and an al fresco lounge, which serves as an area for socialising. The accommodation comprises four guest cabins, which include a generous master suite and VIP staterooms, bringing the total number of guests to 12.
Twin Sunpads and Dedicated Helmet Station
On the upper deck, the guests can enjoy twin sunpads as well as a dedicated helm station that has full 360-degree visibility for easy navigation. There is a closed garage, well hidden under an aft staircase in the portside hull, which offers good space for storing tender equipment, while the starboard hull has additional space for water toys and other related equipment.
Yachts embody the signature “Made in Italy” ethos. Sundance focuses on aesthetic refinement as well as comfort onboard. The interiors, also made by Casali, are expected to be bright and elegant due to the ample glazing that characterises the yacht’s profile but remains covered, while naval architecture is handled by the Italian studio MICAD.
Hardtop Equipped with Solar Panels
The hardtop on SY80 comes equipped with solar panels, which are connected to a battery bank with a capacity of between 522 and 696 kWh. This enables Sundance to perform silent cruising at 7 to 8 knots with a maximum speed of 12 knots.
In addition to Sundance, Silent Yachts has also confirmed the sale of two SY80 units in the 3-Deck configuration, which indicates that there is strong interest in superyacht sustainable solutions.
With Sundance, Silent Yachts redefine the innovative approach towards yachting with unparalleled elegance and eco-friendly design features.
