The 2023 Abu Dhabi International Boat Show (ADIBS) has drawn to a successful close on November 12, 2023 – after four days of showcasing the best in maritime excellence and innovation. Held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), the event featured an impressive array of marine equipment, yachts, houseboats, and water sports gear.

This year, ADIBS 2023 saw a substantial increase in exhibition space, reaching an expansive 65,000 square meters – 55% more than previous editions of the show. 70% of the participating companies were national showing the commitment of the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show towards showcasing local maritime prowess. 

It was also noted that over 91% of the participants represented international brands which were here to benefit from the massive global appeal of the event.

The Ocean 360 stand emerged as a crowd favourite, captivating both local attendees and international visitors. Leading the charge as the headline sponsor for the Innovation Zone was a tech company called ‘Borrow A Boat’. It was recognised for its pioneering work in yachting innovation and sustainable boating practices.

One of the biggest highlights of the event was the visit of Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council. Sheikh Khaled toured the pavilions, admiring the latest advancements in marine technology, fishing gear, and water sports equipment. He highlighted that Abu Dhabi is a premier hub for hosting international sporting and cultural events and also a leading destination for both leisure and business tourism in the region.

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi was accompanied by key figures like Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi; Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council; and Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNEC Group. 

More than 700 local companies and brands from over 15 countries participated in the event. This year’s exhibition, held from November 9 to 12, exceeded expectations with significant participation. The show attracted over 10,000 marine enthusiasts this year!

The successful conclusion of the 2023 ADIBS marks another milestone in the maritime calendar, setting the stage for continued growth and excellence of the boat and yacht industry in the years to come.
